American Nightmare, Massachusetts' sensational hardcore punk artists are bringing their signature sounds to the Brighton Music Hall!
American Nightmare (formerly known as Give Up the Ghost) was formed in Boston in 1998 by Tim Cossar, Wesley Eisold, Azy Relph, and Jesse Van Diest. They released their debut demo tape in 1999 and year later, their eponymous debut extended play. The band's been through many line up changes over the years and it currently consists of Wesley Eisold, Joshua Holden, Brian Masek, and Alex Garcia-Rivera. Their musical style is best described as a blend of hardcore punk (a sub genre of punk rock that began in the late 1970s and is generally faster, harder, and more aggressive than other forms of punk rock), post hardcore (a sub genre of hardcore punk music that maintains its aggression and intensity, but emphasizes a greater degree of creative expression), and melodic hardcore (a sub genre of hardcore punk with a strong emphasis on melody in its guitar work, fast rhythms, sometimes distorted guitar riffs, and vocal styles tending towards shouting and screaming). They’ve had a stellar career with 2 studio albums, 1 compilation album, 4 extended plays, and their music has also been featured on the tribute album Black on Black: A Tribute to Black Flag. Their latest and eponymous album comes out in February 2018.
