10th February 2018 - Saturday 19:00

Big Something, North Carolina's sensational alternative rock artists are bringing their signature sounds to the Brighton Music Hall!

Big Something was formed in Burlington (North Carolina) in 2010 Nick MacDaniels (lead vocals), Doug Marshall (bass), Josh Kagel (keys and trumpet), Casey Cranford (sax and electric wind instrument), Jesse Hensley (lead guitar), and Ben Vinograd (drums). Their musical style is best described as a blend of indie rock (a genre of alternative rock that originated in the United States and the United Kingdom in the 1980s, encapsulating the genres chamber pop, indie pop, lo fi, math rock, neo psychedelia, post punk revival, sadcore, and shoegaze), funk (a genre that originated in the mid 1960s when African American musicians created a rhythmic, danceable new form of music through a mixture of soul music, jazz, and rhythm and blues), and pop. They've had a stellar career with 4 studio albums, 1 live album, and they've won a Home Grown Music Network Award (for Album of the Year). They've been the opening act for The B52s, Robert Randolph and the Family Band, Galactic, Umphrey's McGee, and many other renowned bands in their genre. They've performed at the 2016 Telluride Bluegrass Festival and they also host The Big What; an annual music festival in Mebane, North Carolina.
