Sensational electronic music artist Blank Banshee is bringing his signature sounds to the Brighton Music Hall!
Blank Banshee (birth name Patrick Driscoll) is a Canadian musician based in Vancouver. While his musical style can be broadly classified as electronic, it's best described as vaporwave; a microgenre of electronic music that emerged in the early 2010s - as an ironic variant of chillwave - and is characterized by a fascination with 1980s and 1990s styles - such as elevator music, smooth jazz, R&B, and lounge music - and tracks that are sampled or manipulated via chopped and screwed techniques and other effects. His style is inspired by the world of computers and video game music. He said in an interview, "I grew up with the internet. I had it in 1997 when I was like 10, so, inevitably it became part of my childhood. I’ve always thought the sounds of early technology were cool, and once I got into samplers, it was like taking the red pill. My mind just went straight to old phones and Windows 95. And I’ve always been into video game music—long before any other kind of music mattered to me. Composers like Uematsu, Mitsuda and Kondo, and others are major inspirations." He's had a stellar career with 3 albums and his music has been featured in many documentaries.
