Sensational indie act Clap Your Hands Say Yeah is bringing its signature sounds to the Brighton Music Hall!

Clap Your Hands Say Yeah started off in Massachusetts in 2004 as a musical project of vocalist and multi instrumentalist (guitar, keyboard, synth, and drum machine) Alec Ounsworth. He recruited Lee Sargent (guitar and backing vocals), Robbie Guertin (keyboards, guitar, and backing vocals ), Tyler Sargent (bass), and Sean Greenhalgh (drums, percussion, and synths) to turn the project into a band and they went to work on their eponymous debut studio album. Their musical style is best described as a blend of indie rock (a genre of alternative rock that originated in the United States and the United Kingdom in the 1980s, encapsulating the genres chamber pop, indie pop, lo fi, math rock, neo psychedelia, post punk revival, sadcore, and shoegaze) and indie pop (a subgenre of alternative/indie rock originating in the United Kingdom in the late 1970s and differing from indie rock to the extent that it’s more melodic, less abrasive, and relatively angst free). They released their debut album in 2005 and it quickly got mainstream recognition with a large network of bloggers and Internet supporters. They went on to have a stellar career with 5 studio albums, 1 live album, 2 extended plays, and 7 singles.
