Converge, Massachusetts' sensational metalcore artists are bringing their signature sounds to the Brighton Music Hall!
Converge was formed in Boston in 1990 by vocalist Jacob Bannon and guitarist Kurt Ballou. Over the years their musical style has spanned many genres such as hardcore punk (a subgenre of punk rock that began in the late 1970s and is generally faster, harder, and more aggressive than other forms of punk rock), metalcore (a broad fusion genre of extreme metal and hardcore punk, noted for its use of breakdowns, which are slow, intense passages that are conducive to moshing), mathcore (a dissonant fusion of heavy metal and hardcore punk characterized by unusual time signatures, experimentation, and rhythmic complexity), and post hardcore (a sub genre of hardcore punk music that maintains its aggression and intensity, but emphasizes a greater degree of creative expression). They've had a stellar career with 8 studio albums, 1 live album, 2 compilation albums, 5 splits albums (with Coalesce, Brutal Truth, Agoraphobic Nosebleed, Hellchild, Dropdead, and Napalm Death), 5 extended plays, 3 singles, 5 music videos, 5 demo tapes, and 1 video album. The band currently consists of Jacob (lead vocals), Kurt (guitar and backing vocals), Nate Newton (bass guitar and backing vocals), and Ben Koller (drums). Their latest album (The Dusk in Us) comes out on 3rd November 2017.
Don’t miss your chance to see these artists add a unique touch to metalcore, hardcore punk, mathcore, and post hardcore music!
