David Bazan Washington's sensational indie rock artist is bringing his signature sounds to the Brighton Music Hall!
David Bazan was born in Seattle (Washington) in 1976 and is a singer, songwriter, and guitarist. He was introduced to worship music at an early age by his father (a pastor) and he began his musical journey in 1995 by forming the band, Pedro the Lion. Featuring a rotating cast of musicians, they released 4 albums after which David embarked on a solo career. Since then, his songwriting process has undergone a distinct change and he said in an interview, "I was more anxious then...Maybe it had something to do with the vanity of youth, or the need to protect myself. Now, I am freer to pursue any idea that I have. When it hits, it's really genuine, it's not contrived. It comes more directly from the subconscious, where the lyrical connections are just uncanny." His musical style is best described as indie rock; a genre of alternative rock that originated in the United States and the United Kingdom in the 1980s, encapsulating the genres chamber pop, indie pop, lo fi, math rock, neo psychedelia, post punk revival, sadcore, and shoegaze). He's had a stellar career with 5 studio albums, 3 extended plays, 9 singles, and 1 video album.
