Dia Frampton, Utah’s sensational indie pop artist is bringing her signature sounds to the Brighton Music Hall!
Dia Frampton was born in Draper (Utah) and is a singer, songwriter, and multi instrumentalist (she plays the cowbell and tambourine, and occasionally a Casio Privia keyboard). Her musical style is best described as a blend of folk and indie pop (a subgenre of alternative/indie rock originating in the United Kingdom in the late 1970s and differing from indie rock to the extent that it’s more melodic, less abrasive, and relatively angst free). She cites Modest Mouse, Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, Joni Mitchell, The Avett Brothers, Rocky Votolato, Ben Folds, Etta James, Death Cab for Cutie, The Cranberries, and Cursive as her main influences. She’s best known as the lead singer of the bands Meg and Dia, ARCHIS, and as the runner up on the first season of reality television singing competition, The Voice. She began her solo career in 2011 and her debut studio album (Red) topped Billboard's Heatseekers Albums chart. She went on to have a stellar career with 2 studio albums, 1 extended play, 6 singles, 5 music videos, and she’s collaborated with many renowned artists including The Summer Set, Never Shout Never, The Crystal Method, tyDi, Lindsey Stirling, Watsky, Air Dubai, SILAS, Borgeous – 13, and the Lumineers.
