Digitalism, Germany's sensational electronic music artists are bringing their signature sounds to the Brighton Music Hall!
Digitalism was formed in Hamburg (Germany) in 2004 by DJ Jens "Jence" Moelle and DJ Ismail "Isi" Tüfekçi. While their musical style can be broadly classified as electronic, it's best described as a blend of house (an electronic music style that began in Chicago in the early 80, characterized by repetitive 4/4 beats, rhythms mainly provided by drum machines, off-beat hi hat cymbals, and synthesized basslines), electro house (a form of house music characterized by a prominent bassline and/or kick drum and a tempo between 125 and 135 beats per minute), and Left Field house (a genre in which producers tend to ignore at least one major chapter of the traditional deep-house production playbook, whether doing away with the 4/4 rhythmic structure, the need for hand percussion, or the emphasis on the beat). They’ve had a stellar career with 3 studio albums (2 of which were top 20 hits on Billboard's Dance/Electronic Albums chart), 2 compilation albums, 15 extended plays, 12 singles, and they've remixed tracks for The Presets, Tom Vek, The Futureheads, Daft Punk, Tiga, Klaxons, The White Stripes, Monk, Depeche Mode, Cut Copy, and many other renowned artists. They've also performed at many major music festivals such as Coachella, Lollapalooza, South by Southwest, Rhythm and Vines, Electric Picnic, and Ultra Music Festival.
