Fates Warning, Connecticut’s sensational progressive metal artists are bringing their signature sounds to the Brighton Music Hall!
Fates Warning was formed in Hartford in 1982 by vocalist John Arch, guitarists Jim Matheos and Victor Arduini, bassist Joe DiBiase, and drummer Steve Zimmerman. They were inspired by the new wave of British heavy metal; a nationwide musical movement that started in the United Kingdom in the late 1970s and achieved international attention by the early 1980s. The band’s been through many line up changes over the years and it currently consists of Jim (guitar), Ray Alder (vocals), Frank Aresti (guitar), Joey Vera (bass guitar), Bobby Jarzombek (drums), and touring member Michael Abdow (guitar). Their musical style is best described as a blend of heavy metal (a subgenre of rock that developed in the late 1960s and early 1970s and features a thick, massive sound, characterized by highly amplified distortion, extended guitar solos, emphatic beats, and overall loudness) and progressive metal (a fusion of heavy metal and progressive rock that combines the loud aggression and amplified guitar driven sound of the former with the more experimental, cerebral or pseudo classical compositions of the latter). They’ve had a stellar career with 12 studio albums, 1 live album, 3 video albums, 1 compilation album, 11 singles, 10 music videos, 4 demo tapes, and 1 box set.
Don’t miss your chance to see these artists add a unique touch to progressive metal!
