7th April 2018 - Saturday 20:00

Grendel, the Netherlands' sensational electro industrial artists are bringing their signature sounds to the Brighton Music Hall!

Grendel was formed in the Hague (the Netherlands) in 2000 by VLRK (also known as JD Tucker). He recruited FLRS (a.k.a Floris Noordman) and they released their first demo tape shortly thereafter. The band's been through many line up changes over the years and it currently consists of VLRK, Sascha Pniok, Emanuele Trinci, and Ben Tourkantonis. Their musical style is best described as a blend of electro industrial (a genre that - emerged from industrial music in the mid 1980s and pioneered by Skinny Puppy, Front Line Assembly, and other groups, either from Canada or the Benelux - has a deep, complex, and layered sound featuring harsh beats and raspy, distorted, or digitized vocals), Electronic Body Music a.k.a EBM (a genre of electronic dance music - developed in the early 1980s in Germany and Belgium -that combines elements of industrial music and synth punk), aggrotech a.k.a hellektro (a derivative form of electro industrial - with a strong influence from the hardstyle/hard trance music - that typically employs aggressive beats, prominent lead synth lines, and lyrics of a dark nature), and hardcore techno. They’ve had a stellar career with 6 studio albums, 5 extended plays, and their work has been featured on Dark Awakening Vol. 4, Advanced Electronics Vol. 4, Infactious Vol. 3, and many other compilation albums.
