In The Valley Below, California’s sensational indie rock artists are bringing their signature sounds to the Brighton Music Hall!
In The Valley Below was formed in Echo Park (California) in 2011 and is a duo consisting of Jeffrey Jacob Mendel (vocals and guitar) and Angela Gail Mattson (vocals and keyboard). Their musical style is best described as a blend indie rock (a genre of alternative rock that originated in the United States and the United Kingdom in the 1980s, encapsulating the genres chamber pop, indie pop, lo fi, math rock, neo psychedelia, post punk revival, sadcore, and shoegazing), dream pop (a subgenre of alternative rock and neo psychedelia that developed in the 1980s), and synth pop (a subgenre of new wave music that rose to prominence in the late 1970s and features the synthesizer as the dominant musical instrument). They’ve had a stellar career with 1 studio albums, 3 extended plays, 4 singles, and they’ve been the supporting act for White Lies, The Airborne Toxic Event, and Cold War Kids. They’ve also performed at many major music festivals such as Reading and Leads, Rock en Seine, Pukkelpop, The Great Escape, SXSW and Austin City Limits. Their latest extended play (Elephants) comes out in July 2017.
Don't miss your chance to see the artists with a penchant for crafting stylish, noir-kissed blasts of indie music that falls somewhere between Phil Collins and the Kills!
