Juana Molina, Argentina's sensational indie folk and electronic music artist is bringing her signature sounds to the Brighton Music Hall!
Juana Rosario Molina was born in Buenos Aires (Argentina) in 1962 and is a singer, songwriter, and actress. Her musical style is best described as a blend of indie folk (a style that arose in the 1990s - among musicians from indie rock scenes influenced by folk music - and is characterized by a blend of acoustic guitar melodies of traditional folk music with contemporary instrumentation), indie electronic (a subgenre of alternative/indie rock with affinity for electronic music, using samplers, synthesizers, drum machines, and computer programs), experimental pop (a genre that attempts to push the boundaries of existing pop music by incorporating experimental techniques such as musique concrète, aleatoric music, eclecticism, and electronic production effects), ambient (a style of gentle, largely electronic instrumental music with no persistent beat, used to create or enhance a mood or atmosphere), and chill out (a subgenre of electronic music and an umbrella term for several styles of electronic music characterized by their mellow style and mid tempo beats). She's had a stellar career with 7 studio albums, 1 compilation album, 5 singles, and she's been the opening act for multi award winning new wave artist, David Byrne.
