Sidney Matthew Sweet was born in Lincoln (Nebraska) in 1964 and is a singer, songwriter, record producer, and guitarist. His musical style is best described as a blend of indie rock (a genre of alternative rock that originated in the United States and the United Kingdom in the 1980s, encapsulating the genres chamber pop, indie pop, lo fi, math rock, neo psychedelia, post punk revival, sadcore, and shoegazing) and power pop (a style that draws its inspiration from 1960s British and American rock music and typically incorporates a combination of musical devices such as strong melodies, clear vocals and crisp vocal harmonies, economical arrangements, and prominent guitar riffs). He's had a stellar career with 13 studio albums (2 of which have been certified Gold in the US), 2 compilation albums, 1 extended play, and 6 singles. His music has also been featured in the films Buffy The Vampire Slayer, The Game, Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery, Can't Hardly Wait, Drive Me Crazy, Crossroads, Austin Powers in Goldmember, Garfield: The Movie, and many others. His latest album (Tomorrow Forever) comes out in June 2017.
