Rooney, California’s sensational alternative rock artists are bringing their signature sounds to the Brighton Music Hall!

Rooney started off (under the moniker Ed Rooney) in Los Angeles in 1999 as the musical project of singer and songwriter Robert Schwartzman. Matthew Winter on bass, Teddy Briggs on drums, Matthew Star (also known as née Srolestar) on rhythm guitar, and Taylor Locke on guitar to complete the line up. Their musical style is described as a blend of indie rock (a genre of alternative rock that originated in the United States and the United Kingdom in the 1980s, encapsulating the genres chamber pop, indie pop, lo fi, math rock, neo psychedelia, post punk revival, sadcore, and shoegazing) and power pop (a style that draws its inspiration from 1960s British and American rock music and typically incorporates a combination of musical devices such as strong melodies, clear vocals and crisp vocal harmonies, economical arrangements, and prominent guitar riffs). The band’s been through many line up changes over the years and it currently consists of Robert (lead vocals and rhythm guitar), Boaz Roberts (lead guitar), Sean Sobash (bass), Tyler Johnson (drums), and Kim Vi (keys). They’ve had a stellar career with 4 studio albums, 1 extended play, 10 singles, 1 video album, 11 music videos, and 2 digital-only releases.

Don’t miss your chance to see these artists add a unique touch to indie rock and power pop music!
