Roots of Creation, New Hampshire’s sensational reggae rock artists are bringing their signature sounds to the Brighton Music Hall!
Roots of Creation was formed in New Hampshire in 1999 and consists of Brett Wilson (lead vocals and guitar), Tal Pearson (keyboards and vocals), Mike Chadinha (drums, SPD-S sampler, and vocals), Nick Mini (bass), Billy Kottage (trombone and vocals), and Andrew Riordan (saxophone, dub FX, and vocals). Their musical style is a blend of jam-reggae sounds with homegrown roots, guitar heavy rock, along with introspective lyrics, and they cite Rage Against The Machine, STS9, Sublime, Phish, Bob Marley, Peter Tosh, Mad Professor, Lee Scratch Perry, John Browns Body, Jounce, John Browns Body, Dub Trio, Body, Giant Panda Guerilla Dub Squad, Passafire, Spiritual Rez, and Dub Is A Weapon, as some of their influences. Brett was also inspired by renowned drummer, songwriter, and producer Marshall Goodman aka Ras MG. He said in an interview, “I never imagined that after listening to legendary artists like Sublime and Long Beach Dub Allstars religiously in my youth, that I would ever be collaborating with Ras MG. He’s a true musician. He pushed me to the max and inspired me to keep my ears open to new sounds and ideas.” The band’s received many accolades including the 2013 New England Music Award (for Best Band in New Hampshire) and the 2012 Cider Award (for Favorite Jam Band).
