Rustic Overtones, Maine’s sensational multi genre artists are bringing their signature sounds to the Brighton Music Hall!

The band was formed (under the moniker Aces Wild) in Portland in 1993 by guitarist and lead vocalist Dave Gutter and bassist Jon Roods. They started performing together in a family basement and went on to recruit high school friends drummer Tony McNaboe, trombonist Dave Noyes, baritone saxophonist Jason Ward, alto saxophonist Ryan Zoidis, and Spencer Albee on keyboards and piano to complete the line up. They made a name for themselves on Portland’s music scene and they also went on many self financed tours all over the country. It wasn’t long before they got a record deal and they released their debut studio album (Shish Boom Bam) in 1994. Over the years their musical style has spanned many genres including rock, soul, jazz, indie rock (a genre of alternative rock that originated in the United States and the United Kingdom in the 1980s, encapsulating the genres chamber pop, indie pop, lo fi, math rock, neo psychedelia, post punk revival, sadcore, and shoegazing), and hip hop. They went on to have a stellar career with 8 studio albums, 4 extended plays, 4 singles, and they’ve collaborated with Naughty by Nature, Funkmaster Flex, Imogen Heap, and David Bowie.

Don’t miss your chance to see these artists add a unique touch to rock, jazz, soul, indie rock, and funk music!
