Shout Out Louds, Sweden’s sensational indie pop and indie rock artists are bringing their signature sounds to the Brighton Music Hall!
Shout Out Louds was formed in Stockholm (Sweden) in 2000 by Adam Olenius (vocals and guitar), Ted Malmros (bass, percussion, and backing vocals), and Carl von Arbin (guitar and backing vocals). A year later, they recruited Eric Edman (drums) and Bebban Stenborg (keyboards, accordion, glockenspiel, moog, and backing vocals) to complete the line up and released their debut demo tape shortly thereafter. It made its way to Filip Wilén (owner of Swedish record label, Bud Fox Recordings) and it wasn’t long before he gave them a record deal. Their musical style can be best described as a blend of indie pop (a subgenre and subculture of alternative rock that differs from it in that it’s more melodic, less abrasive, and relatively angst free) and indie rock (a genre of alternative rock that originated in the United States and the United Kingdom in the 1980s, encapsulating the genres chamber pop, indie pop, lo fi, math rock, neo psychedelia post punk revival, sadcore, and shoegazing). They’ve had a stellar career with 4 studio albums, 14 singles music videos, 4 extended plays, and their work has been featured on the compilation albums SXSW: The Best of the West EP and DRIVE XV: A Tribute to Automatic for the People.
Don’t miss your chance to see these artists add a unique touch to indie pop and indie rock music!
