Sister Sparrow and the Dirty Birds, New York’s sensational blues rock and soul music artists are bringing their signature sounds to Brighton Music Hall!
Sister Sparrow and the Dirty Birds was formed in Brooklyn in 2008 and currently consists of Arleigh Kincheloe aka Sister Sparrow (lead vocalist), Jackson Kincheloe (harmonica), Sasha Brown (guitar), Josh Myers (bass), Dan Boyden (drums), Phil Rodriguez (trumpet), and Brian Graham (baritone and tenor saxophones). Arleigh began her musical journey by singing in her parents’ band when she was just 9 years old and by 18 she’d become a veteran stage performer. The band is a relentless touring machine and went on its first tour in 2011. By the end of the year they had played 150 shows spanning 28 states and driving over 50,000 miles in the process. They’ve been the opening act for other blues rock and soul artists such as Dr. John, Sharon Jones and the Dap Kings, and the Soul Rebels Brass Band. They’ve also performed at many renowned music festivals such as Bonnaroo, Firefly, Mountain Jam, Bear Creek, Telluride Jazz, Harvest Jazz Festival, Austin City Limits, and the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival. They band’s had a stellar career with 3 studio albums, 1 EP, and their latest album (Fowl Play) was released in March 2016.
