Tauk, New York’s sensational instrumental rock fusion artists are bringing their signature sounds to the Brighton Music Hall!
Tauk was formed in Oyster Bay (New York) by childhood friends Charlie Dolan (bass), Matt Jalbert (guitar), and Alric “A.C.” Carter (keyboards and organ). They started making together when they were in the 7th grade and in 2012, they added Isaac Teel (drums) to the line up. Their musical style can be best described as an all instrumental blend of blend of funk, hip hop, progressive rock (a broad subgenre of rock music that grew out of psychedelic bands who abandoned standard traditions in favour of instrumentation and compositional techniques more frequently associated with jazz, folk or classical music), and jazz. The band is a relentless touring machine that does more than a 100 shows a year. They’ve shared the stage with many renowned acts (such as Widespread Panic, Umphrey’s McGee, Lettuce, and Tim Reynolds and TR3) and they’ve also performed at at festivals like Electric Forest, Bonnaroo, and The Allman Brothers’ Peach Music Festival. A.C said in an interview, “We’re doing 140 shows a year and we pretty much live with each other, so there’s a healthy respect and trust and love happening there. We all have a common goal and an understanding that this is something we’re compelled to do…”
