The Birthday Massacre, Canada’s sensational rock and electronic artists are bringing their signature sounds to the Brighton Music Hall!
The Birthday Massacre was formed (under the moniker Imagica) in London (Ontario, Canada) in 1999 by Chibi, Rainbow, Falcore, and Aslan. The band’s been through many line up changes over the years and currently consists of Chibi (lead vocals and lyricist), Rainbow (rhythm guitar, audio engineer, mixer, producer, drum programming, backing vocals, and lyricist), Falcore (lead guitar, audio engineer, mixer, producer, film director, and lyricist), Rhim (drums, sound designer, and actor), Owen (keyboards, keytar, web designer, comic book artist), and Nate Manor (bass). Their musical style is best described as a blend of gothic rock (a subgenre of post punk that grew to become a separate genre with its darker music accompanied by introspective and romantic lyrics), dark wave (dark, usually gothic rock-influenced music that incorporates synthesizers, or elements of new wave and synth pop), and electronic rock. They cite Dommin, Aural Vampire, Die Mannequin, Schoolyard Heroes, theStart, Deadsy, the Faint, the Cure, Curve, Tub Ring, Creature Feature, Jack Off Jill, Julien K, Mindless Self Indulgence, the Knife, Depeche Mode, and the Corner as their influences. They’ve had a stellar career with 6 studio albums, 1 live album, 1 compilation album, 2 demo tapes, 2 video albums, 4 music videos, 3 extended plays, and 1 single.
Don’t miss your chance to see these artists add a unique touch to gothic rock, electronic rock, and dark wave music!
