Sensational alternative hip hop artists The Cool Kids are bringing their signature rhymes to the Brighton Music Hall!
The Cool Kids is a duo composed of rappers Antoine “Sir Michael Rocks” Reed and Evan "Chuck Inglish" Ingersoll. Antoine (from Matteson, Illinois) and Evan (from Mount Clemens, Michigan) first met in 2005 after Antoine found a beat on MySpace that Evan had produced. They bonded over their love of the golden age hip hop (a name commonly given to mainstream hip hop music made in the late 1980s and early 1990s - typically by artists originating from the New York metropolitan area - and characterized by its diversity, quality, innovation and influence after the genre's emergence and establishment) and artists like LL Cool J and Eric B. and Rakim. That first meeting turned into a recording session that lasted over 2 hours and it wasn’t long before they got a record deal with offer from Fool's Gold Records (owned by Canadian DJ and turntablist A-Trak). They went on to have a stellar career with 1 studio album, 1 extended play, 6 mix tapes, and 12 music videos. They’ve also collaborated with artists such as Chip tha Ripper, Asher Roth, Yelawolf, Kenna, Ivan Ives, The Bloody Beetroots, Drake, Travis Barker, Lil Wayne, Pac Div, Ludacris, Mac Miller, Maroon 5, Curren$y, and The O'My's.
Don’t miss your chance to see these Midwestern underground hip hop artists with a heavy old school influence!
