Sensational alternative rock artists The Dean Ween Group are bringing their signature sounds to the Brighton Music Hall!
The Dean Ween Group consists of a rotating line up of members led by singer and guitarist Dean Ween (birth name Mickey Melchiondo). Born in New Hope (Pennsylvania) in 1975, he began his musical journey at the age of 14 with Ween; an alternative rock band he founded with childhood friend Aaron Freeman (also known as Gene Ween). Over the years, his musical style has spanned many genres such as indie rock (a genre of alternative rock that originated in the United States and the United Kingdom in the 1980s, encapsulating the genres chamber pop, indie pop, lo fi, math rock, neo psychedelia, post punk revival, sadcore, and shoegaze), experimental rock (a sub genre of rock characterized by improvisational performances, avant-garde influences, odd instrumentation, opaque lyrics, strange compositional structures and rhythms, and an underlying rejection of commercial aspirations), and lo fi (a genre which grew primarily from American underground music scenes in the early 1980s and is associated with artists such as Sebadoh, Pavement, Liz Phair, and Beck). He's also currently active in hardcore band Moistboyz and he's collaborated with Yoko Ono, Ben Vaughn, Pigface and Queens of the Stone Age. The Dean Ween Group's latest album (Rock 2) comes out in March 2018.
