The Rocket Summer is the solo musical project of singer, songwriter, producer, and multi instrumentalist Bryce Avary. He began his musical journey by learning to play the guitar when he was 12 and it wasn’t long before he was teaching himself to play other instruments. His musical style is best described as a blend of indie rock (a genre of alternative rock that originated in the United States and the United Kingdom in the 1980s, encapsulating the genres chamber pop, indie pop, lo fi, math rock, neo psychedelia, post punk revival, sadcore, and shoegazing), power pop (a style that draws its inspiration from 1960s British and American rock music and typically incorporates a combination of musical devices such as strong melodies, clear vocals and crisp vocal harmonies, economical arrangements, and prominent guitar riffs), and pop rock (a genre that originated in the 1950s, influenced by the beat, arrangements, and style of rock and roll but with a greater emphasis on professional songwriting and recording craft). He’s had a stellar career with 6 studio albums, 5 extended plays, 2 live albums, 16 singles, 15 music videos, and he’s performed with many renowned bands such as OneRepublic, Paramore, The Format, Third Eye Blind, Switchfoot, and The Goo Goo Dolls.
