The Strypes, Ireland's sensational rock artists are bringing their signature sounds to the Brighton Music Hall!
The band was formed in Cavan (Ireland) in 2010 and it currently consists of Ross Farrelly (lead vocals and harmonica), Josh McClorey (lead guitar), Peter O'Hanlon (bass guitar), and Evan Walsh (drums and percussion). Their musical style is best described as a blend of pub rock (a sub genre of rock music -developed in the early to mid 1970s in the United Kingdom - as a back-to-basics movement to challenge the expensively recorded and produced genres such as progressive rock and flashy glam rock), indie rock (a genre of alternative rock that originated in the United States and the United Kingdom in the 1980s, encapsulating the genres chamber pop, indie pop, lo fi, math rock, neo psychedelia, post punk revival, sadcore, and shoegaze), and blues rock (a fusion genre combining elements of blues and rock, characterized by bluesy improvisation, the twelve bar blues, extended boogie jams typically focused on the electric guitar player, and often a heavier, riff oriented sound). They've had a stellar career with 3 studio albums (all of which were top 10 hits on the Irish Albums chart(, 4 extended plays, and 6 singles.
