Do you like Brighton Music Hall?

Woods

2nd July 2017 - Sunday 19:00

Woods, New York’s sensational psychedelic folk artists are bringing their signature sounds to the Brighton Music Hall!

Woods started off in Brooklyn in 2005 as a solo side project of Jeremy Earl (former member of indie rock and punk rock band Meneguar). He released his debut studio album (How to Survive In + In The Woods) shortly thereafter and 3 years later, he recruited Jarvis Taveniere (also of Meneguar) and G. Lucas Crane to turn the project into a band. Their musical style is best described as a blend of folk rock, indie folk, psychedelic folk (a loosely defined form of psychedelia - originating in the 1960s – that retains the largely acoustic instrumentation of folk, but adds musical influences common to psychedelic music), freak folk (a subgenre of psychedelic folk that uses acoustic sounds, pastoral lyrics, and a neo hippie aesthetic), and neo psychedelia. The band’s been through many line up changes over the years and it currently consists of Jeremy (vocals, composer, guitar, twelve string guitar, producer, acoustic guitar, electric guitar, drums, percussion, engineer, and bass guitar), Jarvis (guitar, twelve string guitar, composer, bass, producer, engineer, and mixing), Aaron Neveu (drums, acoustic guitar, and bass), Chuck Van Dyck (bass guitar), and Kyle Forester (keyboards and saxophone). They’ve had a stellar career with 10 studio albums, 6 singles, and 1 extended play.

Don’t miss your chance to see the underground psychedelic folk rockers who alternate between pastoral songcraft and otherworldly strangeness!
